Buyandship raises USD $6 million in Series B Extension
Buyandship is a cross-border online retailer based in Hong Kong. It has raised USD 6 Million in an extension of its Series B round. Altara Ventures is the lead investor, with KSK Angels and AVA Angels also participating.
The total amount raised at the Series B level by Buyandship is now USD 16 million.
Buyandship plans to use the funds for enhancing the user experience in product search and purchasing, expanding into new markets in Southeast Asia and automating operations.
Peak3 raises USD $35 million in Series A funding
Peak3 (formerly known as ZA Tech), a digital and cloud solution provider for the insurance sector, has raised USD35 million in a series A funding round. The round was led EQT, with Alpha JWC Ventures participating.
The company intends to use the funds for its expansion in EMEA and to invest in complementary data and AI products.
Amartha receives USD 17.5 Million from Accion
Amartha, an Indonesia-based microfinance platform, has received USD 17.5 million as equity investment from Accion Digital Transform Fund.
The funds will be used to expand Amartha’s platform, which provides financial products and services for rural Indonesian women-led businesses.
LD carbon closes Series C funding round of USD 28 million
LD carbon is a Seoul-based producer and exporter of recovered carbon black. The company has raised USD 28 millions in a Series B funding round. The round was led Toyota’s Woven Capital with participation from Meritz Securities and Investwith. Industrial Bank of Korea also participated, as did the Zer01ne Platform under Hyundai Motor Group. The company plans to use capital to scale up operations for recycling end of life tires into recovered carbon and pyrolysis oils.
Nota AI raises US 19.9 million in Series B
Nota AI is a South Korean startup that specializes in AI optimization and lightening technology. The Series C funding round was led by STIC Ventures, LB Investment and Mirae Asset Securities.
The startup plans to use the money to recruit talent and enhance collaborations with global AI companies.
STT GDC receives USD 1.3 Billion investment from KKR led consortium
ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, a provider of data center colocation services, has received a USD 1.3billion investment from a consortium headed by KKR & Singtel.
This transaction includes an initial USD 1,3 billion via redeemable preferred shares (RPS) and detachable warrants. An additional USD 920 millions could be realized upon full exercise of warrants.
Singapore’s Lanchi Ventures leads Genspark’s seed investment
Genspark, a startup that specializes in artificial intelligence-based search founded by former Baidu executives has raised USD 60 Million through an oversized round of seed funding led by Singapore’s Lanchi Ventures.
The company intends to use the money to develop its AI powered search engine. It aims to challenge Google by providing customized pages to each query.
