Breaking down the numbers – Q2 2024 cybersecurity financing activity recap

We present a selection of cybersecurity companies that received financing in the second quarter 2024 ( 2024 Q2).

Alethea


$20 million

Alethea has closed a $20m Series C round of funding led by GV with participation from Ballistic Ventures who led Alethea’s Series A funding 2022. Hakluyt Capital is also a participant in the round. It invests alongside other venture capital funds and targets companies with high growth potential.

BforeAI


$15 million

BforeAI secured $15 million in Series A financing led by SYN Ventures. Early investors Karma Ventures and Karista have renewed their participation, as has Addendum Capital.

Dropzone AI


$16.85 million

DropzoneAI has raised $16,85 million in Series Afunding. Theory Ventures led this round, adding to the cohort of existing investors Decibel Partners and Pioneer Square Ventures.

Entro Security


June | $18 million

Entro security closed a $18 million series A round led by Dell Technologies Capital, with participation from seed investors Hyperwise Ventures, StageOne Ventures as well as angels such as Rakesh Boodaei and Mickey Boodaei.

Huntress


June | $150 million

Huntress has announced a major milestone with the close of a $150 Million Series A funding led by Kleiner Perkins and Meritech Capital. Existing investor Sapphire Ventures also participated.

HYPR


June | $30 million

HYPR receives $30 million from Silver Lake Waterman in funding to accelerate advancements in technology to combat the growing threat of generative AI driven credential-based attack.

Island


$175 million

Island has raised $175 million through a series D round led by Coatue, a new investor, and Sequoia Capital. This brings its total to $487.7 million.

LayerX


$26 million

LayerX announced a $26 million Series 1 funding led Glilot+ the early-growth fund from Glilot Capital Partners with participation by Dell Technologies Capital.

Nagomi Security


$30 million

Nagomi Security emerged out of stealth with $30 Million in funding to fundamentally reinvent how security teams maximize effectiveness and drive efficiency using their existing security tools. The company was operating in stealth mode, receiving Seed Funding from Team8, while the recent round of funding was led by TCV with participation from CrowdStrike Falcon Fund, and Okta Ventures.

PVML


$8 million

PVML raised 8 million dollars in Seed funding led NFX, with participation from FJ Labs, and Gefen Capital. PVML democratizes access to enterprise data based on two pillars – Differential Privacy, and AI.

Semperis


June | $125 million

Semperis has announced that it has secured $125 million in Growth Financing from J. P. Morgan & Hercules Capital.

Simbian


$10 million

Simbian emerged out of stealth mode after receiving $10 million in oversubscribed seed funding for fully autonomous security. Simbian has received an initial investment from Cota Capital and AI-focused investors Firebolt, Rain Capital, Icon Ventures and Icon Ventures.

SOCRadar


$25.2 million

SOCRadar has announced the successful completion and raising of $25.2 million in its Series A financing round. PeakSpan Capital led the round, with Oxx joining in. This reflects investor confidence in SOCRadar’s innovative approach to cyber security.

StepSecurity


$3 million

StepSecurity has announced the close of its $3 million Seed Funding round, led by Runtime Ventures. Inner Loop Capital, SaaS Ventures and DeVC also participated, as well as several notable industry leaders.

StrikeReady


$12 million

StrikeReady received $12 million from Series B, led by 33N Ventures. Hitachi Ventures and Monta Vista Capital also participated, as did industry luminaries Brian NeSmith (ex-CEO of Arctic Wolf) and Rod Beckstrom (former CEO of ICANN, now CISA).

Sublime Security


$20 million

Sublime security has raised 20 million dollars in Series 1 funding led by Index Ventures, with participation from Decibel Partners and Slow Ventures.

Traceable AI


$30 million

Traceable Artificial Intelligence announced that it had received a $30 million Strategic Investment by a group of investors including Citi Ventures, the venture arm of Citigroup. Lead investor IVP was also involved, as well as Geodesic Capital and Sorenson Capital.

Transcend


$40 million

Transcend has raised $40 million from Series A, led by StepStone Group. HighlandX, Accel, Index Ventures and existing investors 01 Advisors (01A), Script Capital and South Park Commons also participated.

XONA


June | $18 million

XONA has closed a $18 million strategic financing round led by established cyber-investor Energy Impact Partners. This brings the company’s funding total to $32 millions.

YesWeHack


June | EUR26 million

YesWeHack announced a EUR26 Million Series B funding round. The round is led Wendel. New investors include Adelie, Seventure Partners and Bpifrance.
