Venture capital firms are putting their money on Indian fashion brands

Dhruv and Udit brothers hail from a family with over 50 years’ experience in the textile and clothing industry. They founded The Pant Project in 2020 as a digitally native brand. The goal was to provide custom-made trousers for all Indian sizes. In 2023 it adopted an omnichannel approach while also foraying in to ready-to-make pants. It earned distinct recognition for comfort and flexibility.

The company was bootstrapped for four years. It raised $4.25 in a recent series-A round. The round marked the startup’s first institutional funding.
