Golden Egg Check, a Dutch early-stage venture capital firm, has raised €5 million for its debut fund.
GEC Capital I seeks to invest in 35 tech companies over three years.
Launched in 2022, GEC now has a portfolio of 22 startups, mostly Dutch software companies.
On the fundraising, Ytsen van der Meer, a venture partner at GEC Capital, said in a statement, “…we are building a founder community, because we see that entrepreneurs learn an awful lot from each other. That peer-to-peer interaction is valuable and comes into its own in an active fund in which many deals take place.”
GEC’s investments include Runnr.ai, an AI chatbot for hotels and Haaven, a platform for design and construction of wooden homes.
