The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has opened nominations for its Safety Professional of the Year Award, recognizing an individual whose leadership and dedication have helped raise the bar for safety across the trucking industry.
TCA said in a news release that it is seeking candidates whose actions reflect a deep and consistent commitment to advancing safety standards throughout their fleets and the broader industry.
The winner will be announced and celebrated during the upcoming TCA Safety & Security Meeting and NATMI Annual Meeting, taking place June 8-10 in Louisville, Ky.
To be eligible, nominees must be full-time employees of a for-hire trucking company with motor carrier operating authority, and they must oversee safety activities at a supervisory level. Candidates must also have at least seven years of full-time experience as a safety professional with such a carrier, and the company must be a member of TCA.
The nomination process will take place in two rounds. The initial nomination period runs from March 27 to April 16, with judging to follow from April 17 to 24. Nominators will be notified by April 25 if their candidate advances to the second round, which runs from April 28 to May 9. Final judging will take place May 12 to 16.
