In 2 weeks (22-23 may), Innovation Bay will be joined by 200 of our closest and dearest (only those with the brightest minds from the startup ecosystem) at Sydney’s ACO to host our inaugural future-focused event Inspire. Inspire is a platform that allows us to tap into our members’ collective wisdom for a crowd-sourced collage of the future. Melissa Widner will be on the stage at day 2 of the conference. She is CEO of Lighter Captial. We’re excited to share her session details today: Speaker: Melissa Widner Title: The Future Funding for Female Entrepreneurs Session Description : In Australia’s VC and startup ecosystem women are increasingly taking on pivotal roles, including as founders, investors and leaders. This is contributing to the vibrancy of the industry. Women founders bring unique perspectives, insights, and drive innovation to the industry. They also address previously untapped markets. The press reports often on the low percentages of venture capital dollars invested into women-led companies, but there are many anecdotal examples of real progress. We’ll look at the numbers to see what’s happening today in Australia’s ecosystem for female founders and investors. Inspire is only available to Innovation Bay members.
