Air Partner’s cargo division transported 49 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza last month in partnership with Egypt Air.

The operation was executed in partnership with Egypt Air and involved one single charter flight using an Airbus A330-200F aircraft, said the aviation services group.

Due to the ongoing conflict resulting in closed borders, the flight took off from Dubai and landed in Al Arish, Egypt before being transported into Gaza.

Operating from international airports allowed for any potential issues regarding permit and traffic rights to be easily organised prior to the mission, said Air Partner, which coordinated with a local agency and freight forwarder in the UAE to make sure the delivery was successful and on time.

Air Partner said that the only challenge presented was that given that the cargo shipment contained medicine, it was necessary that there was temperature control on board, keeping the contents between 15-25 degrees Celsius.

Pierre Van Der Stichele, vice president of global cargo at Air Partner, commented: “Air Partner’s decades of expertise in the handling of urgent, sensitive, and lifesaving cargo has made our team a crucial part of relief efforts all over the globe. I am proud of our team’s ongoing commitment to carefully and efficiently transporting humanitarian aid with a level of speed and agility that our partners can trust.”

In addition to this recent humanitarian flight, Air Partner also carried out two other humanitarian charter flights to Gaza this year.
