Artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in health care will be a greater priority under a Department of Health and Human Services reorganization announced Thursday.
AI policy and strategy oversight will be consolidated under the newly named assistant secretary for technology policy and Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. The new ASTP/ONC will also be the home of the agency’s chief AI officer, who will manage HHS data strategy, oversee policy development, and coordinate talent and training efforts.
