Harnessing SAP software marks a milestone for Bain & Company since the launch of its enterprise resource planning (ERP) modernisation project in 2020.

The firm is now using SAP S/4Hana, SAP’s complete ERP solution powered by AI and analytics, across 40 countries to support its continued growth. Bain & Company is aiming to capitalise on its continued global expansions, spurred on by its acquisitions, by championing SAP’s cloud capabilities.

This was confirmed shortly before SAP announced in July 2024 its shares rose as much as 7% to reach an all-time high. The software company has reported a better-than-expected quarterly operating income, as reported by Reuters, with its total quarterly revenue rising by 10% to €8.29bn (US$8.98bn).

“Cloud momentum remains strong, with [SAP] cloud revenue up 25% and current cloud backlog up 28% at constant currencies,” comments Scott Russell, Chief Revenue Officer & Executive Board Member at SAP, via a LinkedIn post.

“We saw how SAP business AI has enabled numerous deals this quarter, as Gen AI becomes a competitive differentiator for organisations.”

Choosing to invest in the cloud

S/4HANA enables SAP customers to digitally transform their business by helping build flexible value chains with end-to-end processes, introduce new business models in their industry, and expand globally yet sustainably.

It was the best ERP option for Bain & Company to meet its evolving business needs, with the firm believing that such a tailored solution will help future-proof its technology stack as it continues to develop as a business.

“We’ve already completed our first year-end close on SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition and are very pleased with the results we’ve seen. I’m confident that we’re on course to deliver significant value from this implementation in the coming years,” comments Bain & Company’s Chief Information Officer, Ramesh Razdan.

Implementing SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is a decision companies are making to fully standardise their core processes end-to-end. As it is a ready-to-run cloud ERP that is designed to deliver the latest industry best practices and continuous innovation, it can allow global users to deliver desired business outcomes using the power of new technology.
