Regular freight trains between China and Vietnam ensure stable mass transportation.

Yusen’s new service is one of the few solutions utilizing railways to connect ASEAN countries and Europe.

The route involves transporting goods from Hanoi to Chongqing (China) via China-Vietnam trains, then transferring them to the China-Europe railway express, which delivers goods throughout Europe.

Yusen Logistics offers a full range of services, including cargo collection, transportation in containers at its CFS warehouses, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery.

Additionally, the company provides real-time shipment status updates through its end-to-end service.

As the only Japanese forwarder with a major logistics center in Duisburg, Germany, Yusen Logistics performs container operations, cross-docking, and delivery across Europe.

Before launching the service in March, the company conducted trial shipments to Germany to optimize the process.

Cross-border rail freight is not only a measure for ensuring supply chain continuity but also helps reduce order fulfillment time and greenhouse gas emissions.

In the context of the Red Sea crisis and associated delays in sea transport, rail transport is becoming increasingly attractive.

The situation with sea transport continues to worsen due to rising delivery costs and container shortages.

Yusen Logistics’ international rail transport allows for an 18-day reduction in delivery time compared to the sea route via Cape Town and a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Since 2023, Yusen Logistics has been providing rail freight services to Europe using the China-Laos route.

The company plans further expansion of intermodal transport services to meet the growing demand for transport between Europe and ASEAN countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, and Cambodia.

It offers a more environmentally friendly and faster solution for the growing demand for cargo transportation between ASEAN countries and Europe.
