Veteran Ventures Capital announced that it had successfully closed its Fund II. The fund raised $25 million, half of its $50 million target. This milestone was reached in less than five month and highlights the strong confidence of investors in Veteran Ventures’ theory and execution. The focus is on investing in dual use national security technology businesses led and managed by veteran entrepreneurs.

The Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation and the State of Tennessee made significant investments to support the first close. The team is also honored to continue receiving investment and guidance from anchor investors Ken Hersh, and the dedicated Hersh Family Investments team. Their unwavering commitment underscores the potential of VVC’s strategy.

Veteran Ventures portfolio companies have also received markups in 60% of cases, and several more are expected to be added in the coming months. This performance is a testimony to the hard work, resilience and success of Fund I portfolio businesses founded or led by veteran entrepreneurs.

KEY QUALITIES:

Our inaugural fund has proven the effectiveness of our investing approach by securing over $130 millions in non-dilutive funding from government across our portfolio companies. This has effectively de-risked investments and provided a strong foundation for growth and innovation.
