Under the auspices of OTS, the founding documents of an international NGO called “Alliance of Logistics Centers and Freight Carriers”, were signed in Tashkent. Askar Kadyrov was appointed Secretary-General along with other members of the Secretariat.
The new structure is designed to promote the development and growth of logistics and freight transportation centers in OTS countries. The organization will bring together legal entities and individuals involved in freight transportation, logistics, engineering, and consulting services within this sector.
The participants were informed of the Alliance’s goals, which include expanding effective collaboration among major logistic centers, freight carriers and terminals in Turkic countries. They also discussed how to enhance the transportation and logistics potential of the region through the implementation innovative solutions.
The role of the Alliance as a contributor to the economic growth in OTS member countries has also been highlighted.
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are OTS members, while Uzbekistan will become a full member by 2019. Hungary and Turkmenistan have observer status.
