Cost of a Gallon Climbs to $3.769

The national average diesel price edged up for the second consecutive week, a 3.4-cent bump to $3.769, according to Energy Information Administration data released June 24.

Highlights

  • Diesel’s average price has climbed 11.1 cents a gallon the past two weeks after dropping each week since April 15.
  • A gallon of diesel now costs 3.2 cents less on average than it did at this time in 2023.
  • The average price of diesel rose in eight of the 10 regions in EIA’s weekly survey, the exceptions being matching dips of two-tenths of a cent in the Central Atlantic and in California.
  • The average price for a gallon of gasoline ticked up three-tenths of a cent to $3.438. That’s 13.3 cents less than it cost at this time a year ago.
