Carbon Equity, an Amsterdam-based climate venture capital and private equity investment platform announced on Thursday, 26th June, the “strong” first close of its Climate Tech Portfolio III Fund, which raised EUR60M.
Climate Tech Portfolio Fund III , launched this year, has an EUR125M target and a EUR200M maximum.
Business Insider Netherlands reports that the Dutch VC has arranged the latest funds for 160 high-net worth investors. Edmond Hilhorst is the founder of Independer. Coen van Oostrom, from Edge Technologies and Saskia Brüysten, from Yunus Social Business are also investors in this round.
In a LinkedIn post, Jacqueline van den Ende (co-founder and CEO at Carbon Equity) states that the Climate Tech Portfolio Fund III is investing in 7-10 of Europe’s and the US’s most exciting climate tech venture capital and private equity fund.
Business Insider Nederland reported that this investor intends to invest the capital in at least 15 tech companies focusing climate technology through European and American PE or VC funds.
Carbon Equity suggests that this could include companies developing CO2-free cement and batteries, as well as protein and green hydrogen technologies.

The announcement comes just two months after the Climate Tech Portfolio Fund II raised EUR100M.
Carbon Equity has raised EUR250M to date from 900 investors. These include prominent entrepreneurs, c level executives, private equity professionals and institutional investors.
Currently, Dutch VCs have invested in more than 120 tech companies and accounted for EUR1.7B of sales to date.
