Cochand joins SEI Ventures


Alex Cochand has returned to CVC as a director at SEI Ventures. In 2017, he helped Avios launch their startup investment programme.

Alex Cochand, a director at SEI Ventures (the corporate venture capital arm) of US financial services company SEI Investments Company has joined the firm as a director.

SEI Ventures was launched in 2019 and invests in financial technology developers who are working on wealth management technologies, capital markets, lending, insurance, blockchain, banking, and other technologies. It provides typically between $1m and 10m per deal, from series A to B round.

SEI Ventures portfolio includes AI-equipped open banking services Bud and BondCliQ, a platform for corporate bond market data. It has not announced any new investments since announcing the two deals in 2022.

Cochand worked for the venture capital firm QVentures from 2021, most recently as a partnership. Prior to that, Cochand helped loyalty rewards programme operator Avios establish its corporate venture unit, Avios Ventures in 2017, while working as an investment manager at Downing Ventures.
