Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) announced today it is now taking orders for its fifth-generation Freightliner Cascadia.
“The Freightliner Cascadia has earned its place as the preferred truck for customers of all sizes because of its ability to meet operational needs – safely, efficiently and profitably,” said David Carson, senior vice-president, sales and marketing, DTNA.

“We’re honored to offer the successor to that legacy with the Fifth Generation, and we’re excited to begin customer deliveries in the coming months. My sincere gratitude to all the DTNA employees who have worked to bring the future forward and here’s to those customers who are ready for what’s next.”
Daimler said enhancements include: the latest generation Detroit Assurance active safety systems with Active Brake Assist 6; refined aerodynamics; and new business intelligence tools to help fleets make smarter business decisions.
The new automatic braking system covers more scenarios than previous versions, while engineers have further streamlined components such as the Max Aero bumper. A redesigned hood and wheel well closeouts also improve airflow, the company says.
